Governing Council

The Governing Council is the apex policy-making body of Sri Siddhartha Institute of Management Studies (SSIMS). It provides strategic direction, ensures effective governance, and oversees the institution’s academic, administrative, financial, and developmental activities in accordance with the norms of AICTE, the Government of Karnataka, and Tumkur University.

Governing Council Meeting Agenda

The agenda for Governing Council meetings typically includes:

• Confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting.
• Review of action taken on earlier resolutions.
• Academic planning and curriculum implementation.
• Admission, examination, and student performance review.
• Faculty recruitment, development, and promotions.
• Budget approval and financial planning.
• Infrastructure development and ICT enhancement.
• Research, consultancy, innovation, and industry collaborations.
• Training, placement, and international collaborations.
• IQAC initiatives, NAAC, NBA, NIRF, AICTE, and statutory compliance.
• Student welfare, scholarships, and extracurricular activities.
• Any other matter with the permission of the Chair.

Proceedings of the Meeting

The proceedings record the discussions, decisions, and resolutions passed by the Governing Council. The minutes are prepared by the Member Secretary, approved by the Chairperson, and circulated to all members. Action Taken Reports (ATR) are reviewed in the subsequent meeting to ensure timely implementation of approved resolutions.

Governing Council Regulations

The Governing Council functions in accordance with the statutes and regulations prescribed by AICTE, the Government of Karnataka, and Tumkur University. It meets periodically to review institutional performance, formulate policies, approve strategic plans, monitor quality assurance initiatives, ensure financial accountability, and promote academic excellence. The Council is committed to transparency, good governance, ethical practices, and continuous institutional improvement to achieve the vision and mission of SSIMS.
